Mackenzie (she/they) is pleased to join the New Perspective team as a Therapist Intern. She is currently a third-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University, concentrating in Social Justice and Diversity. Mackenzie brings both compassion and an irreverent sense of humor to her work, which helps her connect with adolescents, artists, and those who appreciate a creative, nontraditional approach to therapy.

In helping clients feel safe enough to take risks, laugh at stuck patterns, and imagine new possibilities for change, clients are invited to begin the process of gently weeding out painful internal narratives, nurturing self-trust, and cultivating patience for growth. Her clinical practice embodies justice in action by amplifying marginalized voices, with particular care for LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse clients, as well as those navigating chronic pain, trauma, cultural stressors, or shifting their relationship with substances.

Mackenzie is passionate about supporting people in making meaning out of suffering and moving toward growth.

Mackenzie’s work is grounded in trauma-informed, socially conscious care, drawing upon DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic techniques to help clients reconnect with their inner wisdom, reduce barriers to change, and move toward lives that feel more authentic and intentional. She is passionate about the power of storytelling, humor, and human connection to foster resilience and healing.
